Senior Platform Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, implementation, and operation of scalable, secure, and highly available cloud platforms, collaborating closely with Cloud Architects and engineering teams.

• Own complex Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using Terraform/Terragrunt and Git-based CI/CD workflows, including design standards and quality-driven delivery.

• Lead teams in building persistent automation for enterprise-grade platforms, leveraging AI-enabled agents to optimize productivity and engineering workflows.

• Design, operate, and continuously improve Kubernetes platforms running production workloads, including capacity planning, performance optimization, security hardening, and lifecycle management.

• Architect and implement advanced automation to improve platform reliability, resiliency, scalability, and operational efficiency, driving operational excellence through observability, incident response, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement.

• Drive the integration and operation of managed cloud services across AWS and Azure (multi-cloud exposure a plus), ensuring compliance with security, cost, and operational standards.

• Act as a technical mentor and platform leader, contributing to architectural reviews, platform roadmap evolution, tooling selection, and improved developer experience across teams.

Qualifications

• Successfully completed university studies in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a comparable field

• 3+ years of hands-on professional experience designing, operating, and scaling cloud platforms and/or platform services in production environments.

• Strong practical experience across cloud platforms and Kubernetes, including AWS and/or Azure (networking, IAM, security, compute, managed services) and production-grade Kubernetes administration.

• Proven expertise in Infrastructure as Code, automation, and operations, including Terraform/Terragrunt, CI/CD pipelines, GitOps practices, scripting, monitoring, observability, incident handling, root cause analysis, capacity planning, and performance optimization.

• Solid understanding of security, governance, and cost optimization, including identity and secrets management, network security, compliance awareness, and FinOps exposure as a plus.

• Strong analytical and decision-making skills, experience with Agile/DevOps delivery models, structured delivery processes (Jira, Confluence), and the ability to mentor engineers and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Very good communication skills in English and Polish; German is a plus, along with openness to a hybrid working model (presence in the Katowice office once per week).
