Lead Platform Architect (B2B)
Responsibilities
We are looking for a Lead Platform Architect who wants to shape the engineering ecosystem by building scalable platform capabilities and driving architectural excellence across product teams.
You will lead the Platform Engineering function, acting as a strategic technology partner for engineering and business stakeholders. You will identify systemic challenges across software delivery, infrastructure, and developer experience, and address them through platform solutions, automation, and architectural guidance.
Your key responsibilities include:
Define and drive the platform architecture vision, strategy, and roadmap across the organization.
Lead and coordinate the Platform Engineering team, ensuring delivery of scalable platform capabilities and measurable impact.
Design and establish cloud-native platform standards across AWS, including Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, and deployment patterns.
Drive adoption of CI/CD, GitOps, and developer self-service capabilities to improve software delivery efficiency.
Provide architectural guidance to product teams on distributed systems, event-driven architectures, and platform integration.
Establish observability, reliability, and security-by-design principles across the technology landscape.
Act as a technical leader and advisor, aligning engineering practices with business goals while fostering a culture of automation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Completed university degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a comparable field.
Extensive experience in Platform Engineering, DevOps, SRE, or architecture roles within complex environments.
Proven track record of leading platform initiatives and influencing multiple engineering teams.
Strong expertise in AWS, cloud-native architectures, and Infrastructure as Code using Terraform or similar tools.
Deep experience designing and operating Kubernetes platforms and containerized workloads in production.
Strong understanding of CI/CD, GitOps (e.g. ArgoCD, Flux), and modern software delivery practices.
Solid knowledge of distributed systems, observability, event-driven architectures, and backend technologies (e.g. Java or Node.js), combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Strong communication skills in English and Polish, with readiness to work in a hybrid model in Katowice.
Nice to have:
Experience with event streaming and integration tools such as Kafka, Debezium, or Kafka Connect.
Familiarity with Change Data Capture (CDC) and asynchronous communication patterns.
Experience with feature management and progressive delivery tools such as Unleash.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise or platform enablement organizations.
