Senior Python FastAPI Developer (Automotive)
About the project
We’re looking for a Senior Python FastAPI Developer to join an international automotive project focused on building modern backend services that support connected vehicle platforms and digital mobility solutions.
You’ll become part of a highly skilled engineering team responsible for designing scalable microservices, integrating cloud-native solutions, and developing APIs used by millions of users worldwide. This role is offered through our client, a well-established technology organization delivering software for the automotive industry.
Your responsibilities
Design and develop backend applications using Python and FastAPI
Build and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices
Design scalable, secure, and high-performance backend architectures
Integrate external systems and cloud services
Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code
Optimize application performance and troubleshoot production issues
Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
Collaborate closely with frontend developers, DevOps engineers, QA, and Product Owners
Review code and mentor less experienced developers
Must-have
5+ years of commercial experience with Python
Strong experience with FastAPI
Solid understanding of asynchronous programming (async/await)
Experience building REST APIs and microservices
Good knowledge of SQL databases (PostgreSQL preferred)
Experience with SQLAlchemy or similar ORM
Docker and Kubernetes experience
Experience working with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines
Familiarity with Git and modern software development practices
Strong understanding of software architecture and design patterns
Very good English (B2+/C1)
Nice to have
Experience with Kafka or RabbitMQ
Knowledge of Redis
Experience with event-driven architecture
Terraform or Infrastructure as Code
Automotive industry experience
Knowledge of GraphQL
Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus or Grafana
