Senior Data Engineer

Please note - this is a hybrid role, with 3 days per week working from our office in Warsaw.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Cloud Data Engineer with experience in Python, DBT, SQL, and data warehousing. You will work on enterprise-level data systems and help prepare data for analytics and AI use.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Design, build, and run Python scripts and ETL processes using tools like Prefect and Airflow

• Prepare data for analysis by transforming and organizing it

• Design database schemas that support reporting, analytics, and AI use

• Build cloud-based data solutions and architectures

• Transform and migrate data using Python, DBT, and Pandas

• Work with streaming and event-based technologies for real-time data processing

• Load and transform structured, semi-structured, and unstructured data

• Improve ETL performance to handle large data volumes

• Monitor ETL jobs and fix performance or reliability issues

• Follow best practices for data quality, security, and governance

• Write complex SQL queries and work with existing data pipelines

• Review code to ensure quality and follow standards

• Support CI/CD and automated release processes

• Validate, clean, and check data for errors

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience with Python, including Pandas

• 5+ years of experience writing complex SQL queries

• 5+ years of experience building ETL pipelines using Airflow, Prefect, or similar tools

• Experience with cloud data warehouses such as RDS, Redshift, or Snowflake

• Knowledge of data warehouse design, including OLTP, OLAP, dimensions, and facts

• Experience with cloud-based data systems, messaging, and analytics

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar field is preferred

Nice to Have

• Experience with Docker and Kubernetes

• Experience with CI/CD automation

• Experience with AWS Lambda or Step Functions

• Knowledge of data partitioning

• Experience with Databricks or PySpark

• Cloud certifications
