Database Administrator (Remote)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a Senior Database Administrator to help manage and support banking systems. You will work with databases through their full life cycle, make sure they run fast and smoothly, and help protect important data.

Must-Have Skills:

• Strong experience with OpenEdge databases (version 11 or 12)
• Good knowledge of database setup, backups and recovery (using probkup, prorest), and replication
• Able to improve performance, manage database structure (schema), and control access
• Can write scripts using Bash, PowerShell, or Python and has automation experience
• Experience working in Linux/Unix and Windows systems
• Familiar with OpenEdge tools like Explorer and Management
• Works well with ABL developers and support teams
• Understands security, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery best practices

Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud platforms like AWS or Azure
• Knowledge of REST APIs, SQL, and mixed (hybrid) data systems
• Familiar with DevOps tools and CI/CD pipelines
