    We are currently looking for a Engineering Manager, who will replace current manager (during parental leave), willing to join a project for our strategic client – one of the largest manufacturing companies from Sweden, offering IoT solutions and assets management. In this role, you will be responsible for managing four teams, comprising approximately 21 engineers and developers, as well as a few individual contributors (a QA Lead, two Product Owners, and two Scrum Masters). The responsibilities will mainly include line management, along with a few operational duties.


    The company is well-established in the market, but even so, the work culture is not like in typical corporations. Teams are small and autonomous, engineers are given extensive freedom of action, and remote-first & async-first approach is promoted (spotify-derived model). The Scandinavian work culture also places a strong emphasis on work-life balance, which is promoted and shared in both the project itself and among rest of Relout teams.


    🔷Responsibilities:


    • Act as a line manager for development teams consisting of mostly senior-level software engineers
    • Coach and mentor team members to increase their impact through regular performance development, 1-1’s meetings and feedback sessions
    • Build and sustain relationships across engineering organizations to make decisions vital to deliver a high-quality, reliable, robust product and services.
    • Drive visibility and improvement of delivery flow through metrics such as cycle time, lead time, and DORA metrics.
    • Guide teams in adopting modern DevOps practices like CI/CD, observability, incident management and trunk-based development.
    • Cultivate a respectful and supportive environment for all team members that effectively leverage the potential of the team.
    • Contribute to business-oriented presentations that justify investments, outline strategic priorities, and demonstrate measurable progress on reliability metrics.
    • Explain technical risks & consequences of technical decisions to senior management & business stakeholders.
    • Collaborate with other R&D managers, Directors & Architects to drive organizational excellence with clear communication, thoughtful decisions, and impactful strategy.
    • Define and contribute to Way of Working within the cell with cell leadership teams to increase productivity, efficiency and overall quality.
    • Enable teams to surface constraints and continuously improve ways of working, with a focus on learning, flow efficiency, and reducing unplanned work.


    🎯Requirements:


    • Minimum 5 years of experience in IT industry either in leadership or managerial roles, with previous hand-on background in cloud-native application development.
    • Practical experience with cloud-native software development lifecycle, ideally in AWS and IoT technologies.
    • Familiarity with business integrations, subscription, identity access & management and data platform domains & services.
    • Skilled in engaging teams in change initiatives through influence, storytelling, and data, rather than directive management.
    • Analytical and data-driven approach towards planning and problem-solving.
    • Familiarity with SRE discipline & concepts will be a plus to support leaders in prioritizing and adopting observability, SLI/SLO’s and SRE work culture into organization.
    • Project leadership & agile coaching to support planning, stakeholder management, address communication issues and improve visibility & reporting.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Openness to travel (at least once per quarter to Sweden and Poland).
    • Fluent verbal and written skills in Polish and English.
