Premotec is a software development and research company located in Winterthur Switzerland with a daughter company Premotec Poland located in Krakow. In several national, European and international projects, we create and maintain new web apps for food researchers and the food community. Additionally, we take part in multiple research projects connected to food science and IT.

We also have our standard software called FoodCASE to manage and generate food nutrient values, food consumption data and food branded data. The different research projects allow us to discuss, experiment and improve software architecture and implementation issues so that the whole team can collaborate and profit. To extend our team, we are looking for a

Research Assistant & Product Manager

to help us with the research parts of projects, project management, acquisition of new ones and networking.

Your Tasks

• Collaborate in EU and national research projects
• Perform research and write research reports in food and computer science
• Being the responsible person for FoodCASE and several other apps (product management)
• Collect user requirements, talk to clients and project partners, write specifications (incl. designs) and documentations
• Manage tasks in issue management system and do release planning
• Quality assurance of software by testing new and existing apps and features
• Help in writing project proposals for EU and national research projects
• Support in recruitment and office management

Your required Profile

• You studied computer science, food science, life-sciences, or a closely related topic or you have a strong affinity to apps, technology, and food science
• You have at least 2 year working experience as research assistant or in project or product management
• You have at least a master degree
• You have a good level in spoken and written English, in particular, you have experience in English writing (proposals and reports)
• You are able to combine various roles like research assistant, product manager, project manager, UI/UX designer, and quality manager
• You are interested in technology, apps, and tools
• You are a creative and explorative person with a willingness to do research on your own
• You are proactive, you are not afraid to take the initiative
• You are communicative, enthusiastic in action and enjoy working with project partners
• You are self-reliant, independent and have decision-making skills
• You are a team player but also confident when working independently
• You work project- and result-oriented

Additional skills (nice to have)

• You have some experience in research projects and AI
• You have experience in Horizon 2020, Horizon Europe, or other research programmes
• You have published in journals, conference proceedings, and/or project reports
• You have experience in software programming
• You speak and write German
