The technology team at Precisely leverages Amazon Web Services as its primary processing infrastructure. Within that framework most of the work leverages a combination of massive Elastic Search databases for document and object storage as well as PostGRES Relational Database Service (RDS) instances for more fine-tuned processing. All access and processing is accomplished using proprietary restful APIs and Java/Kotlin SDKs.
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing data products using a combination of internal proprietary and third-party tools. You will apply standard programming practices to ingest, translate and improve various location related data inputs in support of Precisely’s Data Product Strategy. You will work within a team using agile methods to implement and deliver project requirements and will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
You will:
As a Data Engineer, you will be responsible for developing data products using a combination of internal proprietary and third-party tools. You will work within a team using agile methods to implement and deliver project requirements and will collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
You will:
- Design and develop using industry standard programming languages and integrated development environments (IDEs).
- Work from a backlog of predefined tickets using industry standard issue and project tracking software but be flexible enough to quickly pick up an ad hoc task. After initial training this role will consist primarily of new feature development.
- Write clean software with a “first time right” mentality to minimize technical debt and maximize software reuse and maintenance.
- Conform to company standards while writing code, documentation, and project artifacts.
- Participate actively in design discussions, bringing his/her perspective to product and software design.
- Assume responsibility for acquiring knowledge of the technologies and applications necessary to complete the assigned tasks.
- Design and build software that enhances the Precisely data products with either value added content or new products.
- Become a Precisely Team Player by successfully attending training sessions, company meetings and other required activities as needed.
You have:
- 2+ years of experience in software engineering.
- Strong JAVA or Kotlin skills are mandatory.
- Experience with AWS tools, including S3, EC2 instances, load balancers, etc.
- Experience with GitLab Lifecycle tools.
- Experience with IntelliJ IDE for software development.
- Experience with 2D geometry and related digital mapping paradigms is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of relational database design and query languages (SQL)
