Service Delivery Manager

As a Delivery Manager in this role, you will report directly to a Sr. IT Manager in the Application Development Center of Excellence and be responsible for the delivery of large, Agile projects for the Research & Development organization and other key PPG business units. You will be accountable for the team executing at a high level, following standard processes, all staffing activities and project execution under your leadership.  Your teams will consist of Developers and Quality Assurance Specialists and you will interact with other teams in the group such as Governance, Solution Architects and DevOps.

Key Responsibilities

•    Build out Scrum teams for project delivery (BA, Tech Lead, Developers, QAs)

•    Supervise development activities related to the project under your management

•    Make sure application design is in compliance with PPG’s Architecture Design Principles

•    Responsible for non-functional requirements (maintainability, performance, availability, RTO, etc.)

•    Actively manage technical debt of the software product, extend useful life of the asset

•    Build relationship with Product Owners, ensure proper involvement in backlog prioritization

•    Establish team metrics and monitor them throughout the SDLC. Report out on progress to IT Leadership.

•    Work together with other technical teams (Solution Architecture, DevOps, Security) throughout the development process

•    Ensure coding standards are enforced

•    Make sure documentation is kept up to date

•    Collaborate with Security team to ensure security standards are met throughout the managed application portfolio

•    Create comprehensive test strategy with special focus on regression test automation

Qualifications 

•    Bachelor's degree in Information Systems Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Chemistry, or equivalent education with 8+ years of IT experience

•    Strong project management skills, including defining, organizing, planning, and executing projects from vision through implementation

•    Demonstrated leadership experience in creating and enhancing Software Products

•    Worked with highly complex applications in a cloud environment (Azure or AWS)

•    Delivered Software Products both in Agile and Waterfall methodology

•    Experience with internal customer management (Product Owners, SMEs)

•    Demonstrated understanding of modern application design principles

•    Worked in a CI/CD environment

•    Strong interpersonal and human resource management skills

•    Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to express complex technical concepts in audience appropriate terms

• •    Willingness to travel up to 10% including some international travel with flexibility in primarily working remotely using virtual means of collaborating with colleagues and managers
