We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Senior MacOS Developer to join our team and play a pivotal role in developing the macOS component of our SDK Platform focused on endpoint security. The SDK is a strategic offering aimed at replacing the existing infrastructure used by our partners while laying a robust foundation for future expansion into additional security capabilities, such as VPN, password management, and beyond.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to build impactful security solutions from the ground up, working closely alongside architects, product managers, and fellow developers. You'll have direct input into the technical decisions that shape the architecture, design, and functionality of our macOS SDK.
We are seeking someone who enjoys solving challenging technical problems, has deep expertise in macOS system-level programming, and is comfortable working hands-on with code, debugging tools, and kernel-level frameworks.
-
MacOS SDK Development: Contribute to the design, implementation, and enhancement of the MacOS security SDK, focusing on real-time malware scanning, quarantine mechanisms, system extensions, and advanced security functionality.
- System-Level Programming & Integration:
- Leverage MacOS-specific technologies such as Endpoint Security Framework, System Extensions, XPC services, and launchd for efficient system integration.
- Develop robust, performant components for real-time protection, threat detection, quarantine handling, and network filtering.
- Security and Compliance:
- Implement security best practices, including secure coding standards, robust error handling, and protection against malicious tampering or exploitation.
- Ensure the SDK adheres to Apple’s security guidelines, including compatibility with System Integrity Protection (SIP) and Gatekeeper requirements.
- Performance Optimization:
- Profile and optimize performance for minimal CPU usage, memory footprint, and low-latency operations.
- Ensure our MacOS SDK exceeds current benchmarks established by market-leading solutions.
- Documentation and Developer Experience:
- Author clear, comprehensive documentation that supports internal and external developers integrating the MacOS SDK.
- Create sample applications and code examples that demonstrate best practices and facilitate easy adoption.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Work closely with product, QA, and security teams to define requirements and ensure seamless integration across different modules and platforms.
- Participate actively in architecture and design reviews, contributing MacOS-specific insights and guidance.
- At least 5 years of extensive experience developing software for MacOS, particularly at the system or kernel-extension level.
- Expert knowledge of Objective-C, Swift, and low-level C/C++ programming.
-
Hands-on experience with MacOS frameworks such as Endpoint Security Framework, XPC services, launchd, and System Extensions.
- Proven experience with macOS security mechanisms, including System Integrity Protection (SIP), notarization, entitlements, and sandboxing.
- Solid understanding of multithreading, concurrency, memory management, and performance optimization.
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills with experience using Xcode Instruments, LLDB, or similar tools.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to clearly articulate technical details to both developers and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with Endpoint Security Framework (ESF) and associated APIs for real-time system monitoring.
- Experience with network-level programming on MacOS, including Network Extensions.
- Experience in developing or integrating antivirus, network security, VPN, or other endpoint security products.
- Knowledge of security industry practices, including threat detection techniques, quarantine/remediation processes, and secure coding principles.
-
Professional Growth: Enhance your skills by collaborating closely with talented engineers and architects.
-
Meaningful Impact: Help create software that protects millions of users from cybersecurity threats.
-
Supportive Environment: Join a team dedicated to innovation, mentorship, and continuous learning.
