Tech Lead (SONiC-based Product)

Responsibilities

• Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of a SONiC-based networking solution
• Oversee and mentor a team of engineers, driving best practices in development, CI/CD, and testing
• Optimize network performance, security, and reliability within the SONiC ecosystem
• Collaborate closely with product managers, customers, and partners to define technical requirements and roadmaps.
• Contribute to open-source communities and stay up to date with the latest advancements in SONiC and networking technologies
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex networking and software issues
• Ensure the product meets enterprise-grade performance, security, and compliance standards

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in network software development, with at least 2+ years in a leadership role
• Strong expertise in SONiC (Software for Open Networking in the Cloud), SAI (Switch Abstraction Interface), and related networking technologies
• Proficiency in C, C++, Python, or Go for network software development
• Experience with switching and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EVPN, VXLAN, etc.)
• Hands-on experience with Linux networking, network orchestration, and automation
• Strong understanding of cloud networking, data centers, and SDN architectures
• Experience with containerized environments and CI/CD workflows
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to debug complex networking issues
• Strong leadership and communication skills to collaborate across teams

Preferred qualifications

• Experience contributing to the SONiC open-source community.
• Experience with ASIC vendors and their SDKs

Plus options

• Good understanding of underlay and overlay networking technologies, such as VxLANs
• Knowledge of traffic management and QoS in data center networks
• Familiarity with containerization (e.g., Docker)
• Experience with SAI/SONiC
