Senior Data Scientist

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our thriving and growing data organization. As part of a remote-first team, you will contribute to strategic data science and machine learning initiatives, focusing on pricing analytics and recommender systems. This is an opportunity to leverage your expertise in statistical analysis, model development, and mentorship while collaborating with a talented team of data engineers, cloud specialists, and BI professionals.

Our data organization consists of a few scrum teams with established strengths in data engineering, cloud computing, data warehousing, and business intelligence. To expand our capabilities, we are embarking on innovative projects in data science and machine learning, especially within areas such as pricing and matching.

Responsibilities

-Model Development and Deployment:

• Design, build, and implement robust machine learning models tailored to Pricing, Matching and Recommender systems.
• Ensure seamless integration of models into existing pipelines using LightGBM, XGBoost, TensorFlow, and other ML tools.

-Statistical Analysis and Insights:

• Conduct advanced statistical analyses to derive actionable insights and validate model performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate complex problems into data-driven solutions.

-Cross-Team Collaboration:

• Work closely with data engineers, business and data analysts, and other scrum teams to ensure alignment and integration across projects.
• Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

-Technology and Tooling:

• Leverage and contribute to our tech stack.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, proposing innovative solutions to enhance our data science and machine learning capabilities.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in data science roles, with a proven track record in machine learning, statistical modeling, and deploying production-grade models.
• Proficiency in Python and familiarity with machine learning frameworks such as LightGBM, XGBoost, TensorFlow, or similar tools.
• Strong problem-solving ability and analytical mindset.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working in cross-functional teams.

Good to have

• Experience with AWS cloud services.
• Understanding of MLOps workflows.
• Experience in staffing, HR recruitment, or job boards.
• Background in pricing analytics or recommender systems.
• Experience with LLMs.
