Team Lead, QA (Manual & Automation Testing)
📍 Hybrid in Warsaw (3 days/week onsite required) | 💼 Full-time | B2B contract up to $6,300/month
About the Role
Our client is a US-based technology company headquartered in New York City, delivering digital solutions and consulting services that transform businesses and drive measurable value. With offices in multiple countries, the company is now investing in a new engineering centre in Warsaw, recognizing the strong talent and culture of Polish software professionals.
We are now looking for an experienced and strategic QA Team Lead who can lead both manual and automation testing efforts, build and improve QA processes, and inspire a team of skilled engineers. This is a hands-on leadership role that requires strong technical testing skills, deep process knowledge, and a proactive mindset to drive product quality in a dynamic fintech environment.
This is a hybrid position — minimum 3 days/week in the Warsaw office is required.
Key Responsibilities
Test Planning & Strategy
Develop test strategies, plans, and cases for various testing types
Define test objectives and timelines aligned with product requirements
Identify test risks and implement mitigation strategies
Continuously improve QA processes and introduce best practices
Manual & Automation Testing
Lead functional, regression, integration, and system testing
Design and maintain automation tests using Selenium, Playwright, Cypress
Identify automation opportunities and integrate testing into CI/CD pipelines
Ensure full test coverage by combining manual and automated testing
API & Mobile Testing
Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Assured
Perform mobile testing (Android & iOS) for performance and usability
Automate key test cases for both API and mobile workflows
Non-Functional Testing
Execute performance and load testing using JMeter
Ensure compliance with security, scalability, and accessibility standards
Work with DevOps to optimize testing within CI/CD frameworks
Team Leadership & Coordination
Mentor and guide QA engineers across manual and automation streams
Assign and track tasks; drive team performance and engagement
Foster collaboration with developers, product teams, and stakeholders
Lead knowledge-sharing and training initiatives within the QA function
Communication & Reporting
Report on quality metrics, defect trends, and test execution progress
Work closely with stakeholders to align QA with business goals
Maintain clear documentation for audit and compliance
Use JIRA, Slack, and test management tools for transparent communication
Key Requirements
7–8+ years of experience in QA, automation, and team leadership
Proven expertise in manual and automated testing methodologies
Hands-on with Selenium WebDriver, Playwright, Cypress
Proficient in API testing (Postman, REST Assured) and mobile testing
Experience with performance testing tools like JMeter
Strong understanding of SDLC, CI/CD, and DevOps collaboration
Excellent analytical, communication, and mentoring skills
Comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
Preferred Qualifications
ISTQB Certification or equivalent
Experience with AI-based testing tools or emerging automation tech
