We bridge a wide range of IoT devices, AI and machine learning powered cognitive services with touch screens and mobile phones to create solutions that are memorable, easy to use, and delight our customers.

What will you be doing?
Do you know the difference between Wayland and Xorg? Do you call yourself a Linux guru? Are WPE and Cog familiar to you? If the answer is yes, join our team!
We are looking for ambitious and creative engineers who are up for the challenge. Our IoT / embedded software engineer position consists of working with cloud-based backend, modern frontend, IoT ecosystem and a wide variety of hardware.
We are very passionate about technology. We use the latest and greatest tools and we’re always looking for ways to innovate. Everyone in the team actively influences the design and functionality of our products.
Your role will be to develop exciting IoT and embedded solutions that improve the lives of end users. This involves developing and maintaining core platform modules as well as user-facing features across our product range:
- Building and maintaining embedded system that lives at the very heart of Ombori Grid (Linux, Docker, WPE, Azure IoT Hub)
- Optimising platform software for maximum performance and stability across a vast array of devices (Intel and ARM computers, Smart TVs and more)
- Integrating various hardware components and peripheral devices with the platform
- Developing core platform tooling and libraries
- Coordinating development efforts with colleagues as well as customer tech teams
- Following DevOps principles
Are you the right fit?
We’re looking for someone who has:
- Experience in a similar role. You need hands-on experience with embedded software development and IoT hardware.
- Hands-on experience with Linux, Bash and Docker. You need to be expert in all.
- Expertise in embedded browser environments. You will be working with WPE, Cog, Wayland and more.
- Deep knowledge of networking and various network protocols. You need to be expert in computer networks and be familiar with common protocols such as MQTT.
- Hardware fascination. You will work with wide variety of computing devices and screens. You will also integrate with various hardware components, including cameras, sensors, scanners, printers, terminals and more.
- IoT. Understanding of edge computing and other concepts related to IoT world.
- Cloud exposure. Familiarity with Azure cloud platform or other cloud services will help you a lot.
- Strong communication and people skills. You will need to be fluent in both written and spoken English. You will also need to be comfortable working with colleagues and clients for whom English is not a primary language.
- Self-starter attitude. You will enjoy this role if you like responsibility and accountability.
We’d love it if you also had the following:
- Product interest. Experience working in a product-oriented company will be a plus.
- Cloud experience. Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure IoT services or other cloud IoT platforms.
- Node/JS experience.
