Senior Platform Engineer (PostgreSQL & AWS Databases)

The scope of your role:

• As a Senior Platform Engineer, you will take part in the process of designing, developing, and improving database-related platform capabilities used across modern financial systems.

• You will develop and improve reliable, secure, and scalable database solutions in AWS, with a strong focus on PostgreSQL and AWS-managed database services.

• You will have an impact on our platform and engineering standards by working closely with development teams and supporting them with strong expertise in PostgreSQL and AWS databases.

• You will work on database performance, reliability, backup and recovery, and security, while also contributing to the broader platform engineering landscape in a T-shaped engineering environment.

• You will work with: PostgreSQL, RDS, Aurora, AWS, SQL, DynamoDB, database performance tuning and optimization, backup and recovery strategies, Jira, Confluence, Git.

• You will work using modern AI dev tools.

Required qualifications:

• 5+ years of commercial experience working with relational databases in production environments.

• Strong hands-on experience with PostgreSQL.

• Solid experience with AWS database services, especially RDS and Aurora.

• Experience with database performance tuning and troubleshooting.

• Strong experience with database reliability engineering, including backup, restore, recovery, and high-availability practices.

• Experience with database security in cloud environments.

• Willingness and interest to collaborate and work in a team.

• Poland as country of residence and Polish citizenship or EU country citizenship

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience working with production systems that require strong security, auditability, and operational controls.

• Experience with MySQL.

• Experience with DynamoDB.

• Experience with Snowflake.

• Experience with the AWS platform beyond database services.

• Exposure to Infrastructure as Code and platform engineering practices.

• Exposure to MLOps or adjacent AI/ML platform topics.

• Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
