Senior Backend Engineer (NXJ-86)

We are looking for a proactive, communicative Senior Backend Engineer (Python) with a strong end-to-end mindset to join a new remote team working on an innovative cybersecurity product.

In this role, you will be directly involved in building backend services from scratch, shaping architecture, and delivering high-impact features for a new AI-driven security solution. You will work closely with technical leadership and product stakeholders, taking full ownership of your work.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop backend services for a new cybersecurity product

• Build scalable microservices and APIs from scratch

• Take full ownership of features from early requirements to production delivery

• Collaborate closely with Engineering and Product teams

• Work on integrations with third-party systems and service providers

• Contribute to cloud architecture and infrastructure decisions

• Write clean, scalable, and maintainable Python code

• Ensure high performance, availability, and reliability of backend systems

• Proactively communicate progress, risks, and technical decisions

• Participate in architecture, code, and operational reviews

Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of hands-on backend development experience

• 3–4+ years of strong Python experience (Django / FastAPI / SQLAlchemy is a plus)

• Proven experience designing and implementing robust, scalable production systems

• Strong proficiency with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, VectorDB)

• Experience working with cloud platforms, preferably AWS

• Hands-on experience building services and systems from scratch

• Experience with cloud architecture and managed services (SQS, SNS, EKS, S3, SES, etc.)

• Ability to manage requirements and deliver features end to end

• Upper-Intermediate English with strong verbal communication skills

Will be a plus

• Experience with LLMs or AI-based systems

• Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools

• Kubernetes / Docker / CI/CD experience

• Background in SaaS or large-scale cloud products

A global anti-phishing technology company is building a new AI-powered cybersecurity product focused on protecting businesses from fraud, phishing, and deepfake impersonation attacks.The product leverages microservices architecture, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI / LLM-based technologies, including video and audio analysis to verify the authenticity of communication.This is a greenfield initiative with integrations into an existing monolithic platform, offering the opportunity to influence architecture and product direction from an early stage.
