Technical Skills
- Extensive expertise with Microsoft Azure IaaS and PaaS technologies, including:
- Virtual Servers, Networking, Load Balancers, Azure SQL, Storage Accounts, Key Vaults.
- Web Applications, Log Analytics, Automation Accounts, Logic Apps, Azure Monitor
- Strong expertise with Windows based server infrastructures.
- Strong expertise with networking and firewall technologies.
- Strong expertise with business continuity technologies (e.g., backups, failover, disaster recovery).
- Experience with PowerShell and other service automation tools and services.
- Experience with Azure Databases (Managed Instances) and Microsoft SQL technologies.
- Practical knowledge of implementation lifecycles, methodologies, tools, and practices.
- Understanding of standards and frameworks (for instance, SOC2, ISO 27001 and Cyber Essentials).
Personal Skills / Attributes
- At least 6 years of progressive experience working with infrastructure technologies.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to negotiate and influence colleagues
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to clearly explain issues and contribute to resolutions.
- Understands the importance of documentation and well-defined procedures.
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification is highly desirable and considered a significant asset.
- Additional relevant technology certifications (e.g., MCSE, CISSP, or AWS certifications) are considered beneficial.
The Global Platforms Engineer is a member of the Finance Systems Engineering team within the Global Technology Services group.
A deep understanding of and experience with cloud-native Azure infrastructure and Microsoft technologies is essential.
This role is responsible for:
- Overseeing and optimizing the technical infrastructure – including networks and servers.
- Underpinning the production and development finance environments for the designated VMAs within the scope of the support services.
