We’re seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead our data processing, warehousing, and integration initiatives while helping shape our healthcare solutions. In this role, you’ll build robust data pipelines, develop warehouse solutions, establish engineering standards, and guide technology decisions in a regulated healthcare environment.
Success requires deep technical expertise in data engineering combined with strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with our distributed engineering teams, along with thorough understanding of healthcare compliance frameworks (HIPAA, SOC2, HITRUST) to ensure secure data handling and regulatory alignment.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines (Azure Data Factory, Python, Spark).
- Create and optimize data warehouses (Azure Synapse Analytics).
- Integrate and maintain seamless data flows across various systems.
- Implement data quality, monitoring, and validation procedures.
- Develop standards and best practices, conduct code reviews, and mentor teammates.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and propose solutions.
- Continuously analyze existing data solutions and recommend improvements.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations in data handling, storage, and processing (HIPAA, SOC2, Hitrust, PHI).
Required skills:
- 5+ years experience as a Data Engineer with proven senior-level responsibilities.
- Strong expertise with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, Python, and Apache Spark.
- Proficient in building ETL/ELT solutions and data warehouse structures.
- Strong knowledge of databases (relational and non-relational) and SQL.
- Experience integrating diverse data formats and sources (SQL, NoSQL, APIs).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD, version control (Git), and data quality assurance.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English (Upper-Intermediate/Advanced level).
- Proactive mindset and ability to independently suggest and drive solutions.
