Senior Software Engineer - Backend

We’re hiring a Senior Backend Engineer to help architect and build the infrastructure powering cutting-edge AI and blockchain applications. You’ll join as a technical leader on our small but high-impact engineering team; you’ll have a clear path toward a management role. This role is ideal for someone who thrives on solving complex system challenges and is excited about the convergence of crypto adoption and using AI as a core accelerant to our velocity.

We’re are US-based company, so part of the working hours (until around 7 PM CET) align with the American time zone. The remaining hours can be arranged freely – flexibility and good fit are important to us.

You will

• Proactively improve our architecture, frameworks, tooling, automation, and processes

• Be heavily involved in complex backend engineering feature development, architecture design, and scaling the Meld stack in close collaboration with DevOps.

• Develop close relationships with product management, DevOps and engineering peers

• Design high-performance APIs and services for real-time and data-intensive workloads

• Use AI as a core accelerant to Meld development velocity and quality

• Define technical strategy, contribute to architectural decisions, and drive engineering best practices

• Mentor team members and help shape the future of the engineering organization

  
  

You have

• 8+ years of experience designing, implementing and testing Java code

• Extensive hands-on experience implementing & scaling distributed SOA systems

• Designed highly available and observable distributed services

• Juggled multiple competing product priorities vs. engineering investments

• Tools and skills: Used Postgresql, worked on AWS, experience with long running java processes, i.e. web http, and have experience in experience in SpringBoot, Gradle, Redis & NoSQL

• Led and mentored junior Software Engineers
