Senior Ruby Developer

We are seeking someone to join a small team creating a system that ingests data from social media platforms. The project is not a typical Rails application - we are looking for an ambitious person who is not afraid to work on something that is not an ordinary CRUD. We process gigabytes of data every day and perform aggregations and analyses. Your primary responsibility would be to build and maintain scalable data ingestion pipelines.

Technology

1. Ruby + Sinatra (API only), RSpec, Sidekiq Pro
2. PostgreSQL, ElasticSearch/OpenSearch, Clickhouse
3. AWS services, such as S3, RDS, Lambda, ECS/ECR

A perfect candidate should have

1. Very good knowledge of Ruby and related tools (rspec/minitest, git, CI/CD, etc.),
2. Very good knowledge of database-related issues. Ability to pick the best and most optimal solutions for specific problems. Is not afraid to work in plain SQL,
3. Proven track record of external API-focused work,
4. The ability to work a problem from description to solution, bringing own expertise and excellence to the table,
5. Resilience to a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment,
6. Fluent in spoken and written English and Polish.

Bonus points for

1. Experience with AWS cloud (or Azure/Google Cloud, etc.), especially with the following services or equivalents: ECR, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3
2. Experience with social media APIs and concepts
3. Understanding of event-driven architecture concepts
4. Experience in building ETL systems (extract, transform, load)
