Lead Java Developer

We are hiring a Lead Java Developer for a fintech/payments client portal used by merchants to monitor transactions, settlements, invoices, chargebacks, and security/compliance insights in real time.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using Java 17+

• Build scalable microservices supporting high transaction volumes and real-time processing

• Integrate services with Oracle databases, internal financial systems, and external APIs

• Ensure security, performance, and reliability aligned with fintech standards and regulatory context (e.g., PSD2/SCA)

• Collaborate closely with product managers, architects, and analysts to deliver business value

• Contribute to architectural decisions and platform modernization

• Support production deployments, monitoring, and troubleshooting

• Mentor engineers and continuously raise engineering standards

• Participate actively in code reviews and quality initiatives

What we are looking for

• 5+ years of commercial experience in Java backend development

• Strong expertise in Java 17+

• Hands-on experience with Oracle, SQL, and PL/SQL

• Solid experience with microservices and REST APIs

• Strong understanding of clean architecture and design patterns

• Experience working in Agile teams

• High ownership mindset and excellent communication

• Nice to have: fintech/payments/banking exposure; CI/CD, DevOps, containers; previous technical leadership/team lead experience
