Tech Operations Associate (Terraform/Okta/Workato)

About the Role

We are looking for a dynamic Tech Operations Associate to join our team. This multifaceted role encompasses Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Identity and Access Management (IAM), and process automation. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience managing infrastructure with Terraform, expertise in configuring Okta security settings, and strong automation skills using Workato. Beyond these specific areas, the role involves broader responsibilities to maintain and enhance the reliability and efficiency of IT systems across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure as Code & IAM

• Design, implement, and manage modular, secure configurations for Okta and other systems using Terraform.
• Create, document, and maintain reusable Terraform modules to ensure scalability.
• Administer and optimize Okta workflows, policies, and integrations while aligning with security requirements.

Automation Engineering

• Develop and enhance automation workflows with Okta Workflows and Workato, integrating tools to improve business processes.
• Collaborate with teams to identify automation opportunities and deliver scalable, efficient solutions.

Core TechOps Tasks

• Monitor and ensure the performance, reliability, and availability of critical systems, including IAM platforms, cloud infrastructure, and automation pipelines.
• Troubleshoot operational incidents, perform root cause analysis, and implement preventative measures.
• Manage and improve Tech processes, supporting evolving business needs.
• Oversee system upgrades, asset management, and patch management for key platforms.

Collaboration & Knowledge Sharing

• Work with Security, Site Reliability Engineering, and other Tech teams to maintain consistent, secure configurations.
• Document configurations, workflows, and best practices to share with team members.
• Train staff to effectively utilize automation workflows and IaC processes.

Continuous Improvement & Innovation

• Identify and implement opportunities to improve system reliability and operational efficiency.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies in TechOps, Terraform, Okta, and Workato to bring innovative ideas to the team.

Qualifications

Required Skills

• Solid experience with Terraform, managing IaC solutions for cloud and IAM platforms.
• Proficiency in configuring and managing Okta, including workflows, policies, and integrations.
• Strong automation engineering skills using Workato or similar platforms.
• In-depth knowledge of TechOps best practices, including incident management and system monitoring.
• Familiarity with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of ITIL processes and operational frameworks.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with additional automation tools like Zapier or Ansible and cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Programming skills in Python or Bash for scripting and automation.
• Relevant certifications, such as Terraform Associate, Okta Certified Professional, or Workato Automation Pro.
• Expertise in scaling and managing IAM systems in complex environments.
