Staff/Senior Teradata Engineer

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Teradata Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and optimizing large-scale data solutions using Teradata. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure data integrity, performance, and scalability in a high-volume environment.

Experience in the financial sector is a plus, as you will work on data solutions that support critical business decisions in a regulated industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain Teradata data warehouses, databases, and ETL processes.
• Optimize complex SQL queries and ensure high performance of Teradata environments.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and data scientists to deliver efficient data solutions.
• Develop and implement best practices for database performance tuning, security, and backup strategies.
• Support and troubleshoot Teradata environments, ensuring minimal downtime and high availability.
• Work on data migration and transformation projects, ensuring smooth integration with other systems.
• Contribute to the automation of data processes, improving efficiency and reliability.
• Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies in data engineering.

Required Qualifications

✅ 6+ years of experience in data engineering, with a strong focus on Teradata.

✅ Proficiency in writing and optimizing SQL for complex queries.

✅ Experience with ETL development and data transformation processes.

✅ Strong understanding of database performance tuning and query optimization.

✅ Hands-on experience with data modeling and working with large datasets.

✅ Knowledge of data governance, security, and compliance best practices.

✅ Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

✅ Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Nice to Have

➕ Experience working in the financial sector or regulated industries.

➕ Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and big data technologies.

➕ Exposure to Python, Shell scripting, or other programming languages for automation.

➕ Understanding of BI and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
