SQL Server Database Administrator

We are looking for an experienced SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) to join our team and play a key role in managing and optimizing our data systems. In this role, you’ll design, implement, and maintain data management operations, including ETL pipelines, database performance tuning, and robust data quality initiatives. You'll work closely with our Data and Analytics team, engineering, and infrastructure teams to ensure secure, reliable, and efficient data operations, contributing to strategic corporate goals.

This role also supports deployment implementations and DevOps practices, ensuring seamless data solution integration. Experience with Microsoft SQL Server and advanced knowledge of TSQL are required, while Microsoft certifications and familiarity with the insurance industry are desirable but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize database instances on Microsoft SQL Server (2016, 2019).
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure database security.
• Enhance and maintain ETL pipelines and data transformation processes.
• Conduct database performance tuning using Transact-SQL (TSQL).
• Improve data quality and respond to audit alerts to maintain high standards of data integrity.
• Build and support data solutions using SSIS and the Microsoft SQL Server stack.
• Lead process improvement initiatives across the data and analytics team.
• Collaborate on automated deployment and DevOps solutions.
• Foster strong relationships between IT and business teams to align objectives.

Required Experience:

• At least 6 years of experience in database administration, data engineering, or related operations with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Minimum 2 years of experience with Power BI and data profiling/cleansing techniques.
• Proficiency in data warehousing concepts and governance practices.
• Strong TSQL knowledge and experience with ETL processes.

Desirable Skills:

• Familiarity with PowerShell, DevOps tools (e.g., Jenkins, Docker), and MongoDB.
• Experience in the insurance industry is a plus but not required.
• Microsoft certifications in SQL Server technologies.
