Service Reliability Engineer

Responsibilities:

• Active Monitoring: Regularly observe and enhance the performance and availability of production environments, encompassing both user-facing and backend components.
• Release Planning and Implementation: Organize and execute application releases, conduct load testing, and manage configuration changes.
• Production Preparedness: Work with teams to ensure systems are ready for production and align with user needs.
• Technical Project Support: Assist in medium to large technical projects through architecture reviews, system upgrades, and application migrations.
• Task Prioritization: Manage a list of prioritized tasks, providing regular updates to ensure focus on critical solutions.
• Phased Project Delivery: Ensure tasks are completed according to set specifications and timelines.
• Process Optimization and Automation: Identify areas for efficiency improvements and contribute to their automation.
• Performance and Capacity Management: Offer feedback and propose solutions on performance, capacity, and design issues to management.
• Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for designs and architectures, and share meeting notes and action items.
• Incident Management: Collaborate with teams to address incidents and resolve issues promptly, often requiring on-call and out-of-hours support.

Desired Skills:

• Containerization: Proficiency with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Operating Systems: Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and familiarity with Windows systems.
• CI/CD Tools: Experience with Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Ansible.
• Infrastructure and Networking: Knowledge of global infrastructure, firewalls, and networking.
• Programming and Scripting: Competence in languages like Python and various scripting methodologies.
• API and Database Knowledge: Experience with API interactions and databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, and NoSQL databases.
• Cloud Platforms: Understanding of cloud platforms and security for automated release cycles.
• English Proficiency: Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
