Senior Test Engineer / QA Lead

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Test Engineer / QA Lead to take ownership of the testing strategy and execution within our projects. You will be responsible for designing robust test environments, creating and running automated and manual tests, and ensuring the overall quality of complex enterprise systems. The role requires both hands-on technical expertise and leadership capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and execute the overall testing strategy for projects, covering unit, integration, functional, regression, performance, and acceptance testing.

• Design and maintain test environments tailored to project needs.

• Create and manage test plans, test cases, and test documentation.

• Implement, execute, and debug automated and manual test scripts.

• Monitor and report on test progress, results, and system quality metrics.

• Conduct defect tracking, validation, and ensure proper documentation of test outcomes.

• Collaborate with business analysts, developers, solution architects, and support teams to enhance product quality.

• Provide leadership in testing activities for complex projects, ensuring alignment with best practices and project objectives.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of QA processes and recommend automation or process optimizations.

Requirements

• Proven expertise in software testing across multiple methods: unit, integration, regression, performance, and acceptance testing.

• Strong experience in test environment design and setup.

• Background in managing and configuring test management tools (experience with Azure DevOps Test Plans is a plus).

• Hands-on experience with test automation frameworks (Playwright or similar).

• Ability to write SQL queries and use them for validation and test data preparation.

• Practical coding experience in at least one language (e.g. Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, VBS).

• Experience leading test activities in complex projects.

• Familiarity with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) and quality assurance processes.

• Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to quickly understand complex systems.

• Excellent communication and documentation skills in English.
