Senior DevOps Engineer – Development Focus

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior DevOps Engineer with a strong software engineering background and advanced backend development experience. In this role, you will combine your programming expertise with DevOps best practices to design, build, and enhance our deployment, automation, and infrastructure systems. The focus will be on creating robust, efficient, and maintainable backend services and tooling that enable seamless CI/CD pipelines, scalable environments, and automated workflows.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and automation tools supporting deployment, monitoring, and infrastructure management.

• Build and extend infrastructure-aware CI/CD pipelines that integrate testing, validation, and performance monitoring.

• Collaborate closely with application developers to create APIs, services, and integration points for deployment and operational automation.

• Implement and optimize backend code in languages such as Python, Java, Go, Typescript or C# to improve tooling and delivery processes.

• Develop high-performance solutions for environment provisioning, configuration management, and release orchestration.

• Ensure system reliability through automated health checks, logging, monitoring, and alerting mechanisms.

• Work with containerized and orchestrated environments (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS ECS/EKS) to support scalable application delivery.

• Standardize development workflows, coding best practices, and automated testing strategies within the DevOps ecosystem.

• Troubleshoot complex system, deployment, and integration issues, collaborating with both infrastructure and application teams.

• Contribute to architecture discussions, recommending solutions that improve performance, scalability, and maintainability.

Requirements

• Extensive backend development experience in at least one major programming language (Python, Java, Go, or C#), with proven ability to design and implement complex software systems.

• Strong understanding of software engineering principles, including OOP, SOLID, and design patterns.

• Proven track record of building and integrating CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, or similar).

• Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS or in Azure and infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible).

• Strong knowledge of containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

• Experience with build automation tools (Maven, Gradle, Make) and source control workflows (Git).

• Familiarity with automated testing frameworks and integrating test stages into delivery pipelines.

• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in fast-paced, agile delivery environments.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills, with a proactive approach to improving processes and systems.
