Lead Test Automation Engineer

Technical:

• Strong knowledge of Java programming language

• Candidate should be hands-on with coding in current role.

• Hands-on with GitHub CoPilot or similar AI tools.

• Possess excellent communication skills to facilitate accurate and efficient communication across globally distributed development and test teams.

• Experience in Selenium, Rest Assured and at least one performance testing tool (preferably Load runner)

• Experience in BDD framework design with tools such as Cucumber

• Experience in application testing

• Should have deep understanding of websockets, gRPC & Protobuf

• Be SMEs on the testing and proven experience on large scale FM projects.

• Possess proven UNIX and SQL and No-SQL skills.

• Expect to have strong networking and coordination skills with various external teams and stakeholders.

• Have demonstrable experience of test automation for system testing, predominately in usage of, but ideally defining and implementing test automation frameworks.

• Possess a proactive ‘can do’ attitude and demonstrate the ability to work alone or as part of a team.

Banking:

• Demonstrate a strong general knowledge of banking business systems and a deep understanding of financial markets flows from front to back-office systems. Understanding of Loans systems would be beneficial.

• Basic knowledge of financing risk, underwriting, forcasting, portfolio analytics and monitoring.

• Good understanding of investment banking products such as fixed income, equities, derivatives (futures & options), FX.

• Experience with electronic trading platforms & ECNs (e.g. Bloomberg).

Good to have:

• Experience in testing & test automation of Open Fin applications would be an advantage.

• Experience in Azure Devops (ADO) CI/CD, ADO Boards & ADO Test plan module.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

Technical:

• Understand functional requirements and design & develop test cases.

• Champion and implement test automation at every possible opportunity, aligning to the automation by design strategy.

• Design, develop & maintain test automation frameworks using Java programming language.

• Design and execute high-quality test cases based on accurate business requirements analysis.

• Maintain a testing structure to facilitate future additions / amendments and ongoing execution.

• Demonstrate effective and accurate test scheduling skills in line with other project deliverables.

• Troubleshoot QA environment issues, diagnose and resolve impediments prior to formal testing.

• Perform root cause analysis of issues to assist in determining the source of problems, mitigate the issues with effective solution & prevent their recurrence.

Leadership:

• Perform architecture reviews, code reviews and test case reviews to ensure delivery quality.

• Define effective automation strategy, coding & design guidelines for the team.

• Resolve technical roadblocks for the team and mentor automation team members for continuous improvement.
