Head of Data

Summary: The Head of Data is a pivotal leadership role responsible for the design, implementation, and management of the organization’s enterprise data strategy. You will oversee the entire data ecosystem—from engineering and governance to advanced analytics—ensuring that data is treated as a strategic asset. Your mission is to provide a unified, compliant, and high-quality data foundation that accelerates scientific insights and optimizes global operations.

Key Requirements:

• Relevant professional experience in the Life Science industry, with a solid grasp of data integrity standards (ALCOA+), GxP regulations, and health data privacy requirements (GDPR/HIPAA).

• Extensive experience (10+ years) in data management, data engineering, or enterprise architecture, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.

• Proven expertise in building modern data stacks, including Cloud Data Warehousing, Data Lakehouses, and Master Data Management (MDM) solutions.

• Demonstrated ability to lead complex, cross-functional data organizations and manage large-scale budgets and vendor ecosystems.

• Full professional proficiency in English, with the ability to communicate data-driven strategies to both technical experts and executive-level stakeholders.

Main Responsibilities:

• Define and lead the global data strategy, ensuring it supports the specific needs of R&D, Clinical Operations, and Commercial workstreams.

• Establish and enforce a robust Data Governance framework to ensure the highest levels of data quality, security, and regulatory compliance.

• Oversee the modernization of the data infrastructure to support real-time analytics and AI/ML readiness across the enterprise.

• Collaborate with the Head of AI and other business leaders to ensure data pipelines are optimized for advanced modeling and automated reporting.

• Act as the organization’s chief advocate for a data-driven culture, mentoring technical teams and promoting data literacy across all departments.
