GCP Architect

Role Purpose:

We are seeking a skilled Manager - Platform Architect GCP who will play a critical role in guiding the design, implementation, and optimization of our platform on Google Cloud. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience with GCP services, strong leadership abilities, and a proven history of successfully leading platform engineering teams.

Responsibilities:

Architecture & Design:

• Develop and maintain architectural blueprints for development on GCP
• Introduce new services and tools to the GCP platform
• Provide guidance on best practices, technical standards, and professional development for the team
• Review designs and architectures from product teams to ensure compliance with design blueprints
• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality outputs

GCP Infrastructure Management:

• Oversee the design, deployment, and maintenance of GCP infrastructure components, ensuring high availability and optimal performance
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code (IaC) tools for efficient and automated deployment processes

Platform Optimization:

• Implement and optimize platform engineering processes to enhance scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency on GCP
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve platform-related issues

Security and Compliance:

• Collaborate with the security team to implement and enforce security measures within GCP environments
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and internal policies related to GCP platform services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree is a plus
• Proven experience (7+ years) in a lead role overseeing platform engineering on Google Cloud Platform
• In-depth knowledge of GCP services and infrastructure components
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code (IaC) tools, and GCP security best practices
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
