Automation Test Engineer - Market Risk

We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Automation Test Engineer with over 10 years of experience in software testing, including 4+ years in automation testing using Python or Java/Selenium. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in Core Python and expertise in data reconciliation, API automation, and backend automation testing.

This role requires hands-on experience in data validation, data comparison, and implementing automation frameworks using tools like Pandas, Requests, and JSON libraries. Proficiency in BDD/Cucumber frameworks and a deep understanding of market risk or risk domain concepts will be advantageous.

The candidate should be comfortable working in Agile environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and executing automation tasks within sprints. Additional knowledge of continuous integration (Jenkins), version control (Git/Stash), SQL database testing, and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) is a plus.

Project Description

The project focuses on automation testing and data reconciliation for a financial technology platform. The goal is to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of backend automation, API testing, and data validation processes using Python-based frameworks.

The selected candidate will work as part of an Agile team and contribute to test strategy development, framework enhancement, and implementation of automated regression tests. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, improving test coverage, and ensuring smooth integration of automation tools into the development lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze requirements, functional specifications, and product documentation to identify potential issues early in the development lifecycle.
• Design and develop test specifications and traceability matrices based on business requirements.
• Execute functional, technical, and automated test cases, ensuring quality and timely delivery.
• Automate test scripts for API and backend validation, ensuring robust test coverage.
• Document and track defects throughout the testing lifecycle, ensuring resolution.
• Collaborate closely with Agile teams to integrate automation into sprints.
• Maintain and enhance existing automation frameworks while implementing new testing strategies.
• Conduct reviews and inspections of test deliverables to improve efficiency.
• Monitor test environments and ensure readiness for SIT and regression testing.
• Identify performance bottlenecks using profiling tools.

Skills & Qualifications

• 10+ years of software testing experience, preferably in the banking or financial sector.
• 4+ years in automation testing with Python or Java/Selenium.
• Strong Core Python knowledge (control structures, data structures, regex, OOP, generators, etc.).
• Experience in data validation, data reconciliation, and API automation.
• Expertise in REST API and Microservices automation.
• Familiarity with Jenkins for CI/CD pipelines and test execution.
• Knowledge of SQL and database testing automation.
• Experience with GIT/Stash for version control.
• Understanding of Agile methodologies and BDD/Cucumber frameworks.
• Nice to have: Experience with Java/Selenium, Unix shell scripting, and cloud platforms like AWS, Azure.
