Role Overview
The Aeronautical Chart Specialist is responsible for creating, maintaining, and validating aeronautical charts used for navigation and operational purposes. The role ensures that charts are accurate, up-to-date, and compliant with aviation standards, supporting safe and efficient flight operations. The position combines technical expertise, attention to detail, and close collaboration with operational and data teams.
Key Responsibilities
Create, update, and maintain aeronautical charts and related navigation materials.
Ensure all charts comply with ICAO/EASA regulations and internal quality standards.
Validate chart data against operational sources and aeronautical databases.
Support monitoring of chart accuracy and identify potential discrepancies.
Collaborate with pilots, operations teams, and data analysts to ensure usability and correctness.
Assist in integrating charts into navigation systems and digital platforms.
Prepare documentation and reports regarding chart updates, changes, and compliance checks.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for chart production processes.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 2–6 years of experience in aeronautical charting, aviation data, or related roles.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in working with critical aviation information.
Knowledge of ICAO/EASA standards and charting guidelines.
Basic understanding of navigation systems and operational workflows.
Proficient in relevant tools for chart creation and data validation (GIS software, CAD, or specialized aviation tools).
Good communication and collaboration skills in cross-functional teams.
Fluent English (written and spoken).
Nice to Have
Experience with digital charting platforms or integration with avionics systems.
Familiarity with aeronautical data databases (e.g., Jeppesen, ARINC).
Exposure to aviation IT systems or software development processes.
Understanding of flight operations and air traffic management.
