Cloud Operation Engineer

The contract is for an urgent replacement. Please do not apply if you do not meet the following 3 requirements:

• Almost immediate availability. Start at the latest from the beginning of March,

• A 3-month contract for a replacement to show yourself in the team and with the possibility of other offers after completion,

• A 5-day onboarding in Luxembourg is necessary, during which the equipment is handed over, the team is introduced and procedures are introduced.

Description:

The Cloud Operation Engineer is an adopter of virtualization, containers, and cloud infrastructure. You should love to automate everything that must be done more than once. You will oversee migrating products using container technology such as Kubernetes and provisioning platforms like vRealize Automation. Your scope will also embrace reverse engineering of the legacy architecture and key flows, and understand its key weaknesses and readiness such as security, reliability, simplicity, performance, operational agility, and automation. Design out the weaknesses, and work hand in hand with the technical architects and operational teams. The final goal is to participate in the transformation of the Data Center into a full continuous delivery pipeline with fully automated build/deploy/monitoring/resiliency processes in a fully consolidated environment with no unknown remaining legacy issues in terms of security, reliability, performance, and operational agility.

Qualifications:

• Be ready to handle on-call support in a 24/7 manner and shift mode 7-20

• Be ready to handle Incidents under SLA constraints.

• fast learner / excellent at troubleshooting / self-organizing

• Basic understanding of programming concepts and one of the programming/scripting languages (Python, Javascript, Bash)

• Initiative, accuracy, and attention to detail;

• Experience in integrating automation solutions (Jenkins, Ansible Gitlab). Preferable vRA.

• Experience with container provisioning platforms such as Kubernetes

• Knowledge of computer networking and virtualization

• Ability to build collaborative working relationships with various internal and external stakeholders

• Knowledge of ArgoCD

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external organizations.

• Ability to work and communicate in a multicultural environment;

• Ability to communicate in writing and verbally in a clear and concise manner;

• Fluent in English (written and spoken) is essential;

• Any other European language is a plus

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field Only

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in using vSphere and NSX-T.

• Familiarity with service design in the context of cloud-based solutions

• Stay current with new technologies and techniques as appropriate

• Knowledge of ITIL functions and processes

• Kubernetes certification is considered an asset.
