Senior Scala Developer

A key client in the banking sector is looking for a Scala Developer to join a cross-functional team delivering data transformation projects at scale. This is a great opportunity to grow your skills while contributing to business-critical systems.

Key responsibilities

• Building and maintaining Scala/Spark data transformation pipelines
• Collaborating closely with DevOps, QA, and Product Management
• Participating in PI Demo sessions, sharing progress and insights
• Supporting the creation and optimization of distributed data flows

Ideal candidate profile

• A few years of hands-on experience in Scala and Spark
• Solid experience with Python
• Solid background in Hadoop and related tools (Hive, Oozie, MapReduce, etc.)
• Strong SQL skills and understanding of data processing workflows
• Basic experience with Linux/Unix environments
• Fluency in English (written & spoken)

Nice to have

• Understanding of code versioning and branching strategies
• Familiarity with Agile/Safe frameworks
• Experience using Git/BitBucket
• Basic knowledge of AWS

Conditions

• Location: Gdańsk, Gdynia or Warsaw
• Work model: Hybrid – 1 day/week in the office
• Contract: B2B
• Rate: up to 150 PLN net/h
