Senior Python Engineer / Data Engineer

Our client from Aviation industry needs the support of a skilled Senior Software Engineer (Python / PySpark) to join the product development team. In this role, you will be working on large-scale systems for processing and analyzing geospatial data.

Responsibilities includes development and maintenance of in-house applications. Team will be based in Poland, but you will be working in distributed, international environment. 

This is a long term cooperation and we are looking for 3 specialists, so it's a great opportunity to come on board with your friends. 

Key responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain scalable internal applications used for processing and visualizing complex data
• Work on geospatial data projection
• Contribute to geospatial data handling and integration processes
• Working with Business requirements / design
• Collaborating closely with DevOps, QA, and Product Management teams in a Continuous Delivery environment

Ideal candidate profile:

• 5+ years of experience in software development using Python
• 2+ years of experience with Spark
• Very good knowledge of PySpark, Pandas and NumPy
• Good knowledge of Databricks
• Familiarity with ETL, CI/CD, Shell scripting and containerization using Docker and Kubernetes
• A data-driven mindset and experience in using Agile methods

Nice to have:

• Experience working with GIS systems or geospatial data
• Apache Sedona experience
• Strong communication skills with previous exposure to distributed global teams

Conditions:

• Location: Gdańsk, with some visits in office, at least once per month when you live outside Tricity. More often if you are from Tricity
• Form of cooperation: B2B
• Salary depends on your experience, we are looking for Senior and Expert position, 150 - 220 PLN/h
