Test Automation Engineering Manager

We are recruiting for a global organization operating in the digital aviation space, delivering advanced software solutions used worldwide in the aviation industry.

The company is currently going through organizational changes and building new structures, which creates an environment with a lot of ownership, autonomy, and space for improvement.

This role combines team leadership with hands-on technical work in test automation. You will lead a QA team and actively contribute to shaping testing strategy, processes, and overall quality standards.

You will work in an international environment and collaborate with US-based teams.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and support a QA team (1:1,development, performance management, administrative tasks
• Drive test strategy and improve quality processes across iOS application
• Collaborate with developers, product teams, and international stakeholder
• Contribute hands-on to test automation (depending on preference: approx. 30–70%
• Build and improve testing processes in an environment that is still evolving and not fully structure
• Handle administrative and organizational aspects of team managemen
• Work with US-based teams (including occasional late hours
• Promote the use of modern tools, including AI-supported solutions, in daily work

Ideal candidate profile

• Experience in test automation and strong understanding of QA processes
• Hands-on experience with iOS testing (UI testing, Appium, Xcode, Swift)
• Previous experience in a leadership or team coordination role (formal or informal)
• Comfort working in a dynamic, changing environment with limited structure
• Ability to take ownership and introduce improvements where needed
• Strong communication skills and experience working with international teams
• Openness to using AI tools in engineering workflows
• English at a minimum B2 level

We are open to candidates with different focus areas:

• more managerial (approx. 70% leadership / 30% technical)
• more technical (approx. 70% hands-on / 30% leadership)

Conditions

• B2B contract (with openness to an employment contract)
• Rate: 140–170 PLN net/hour (B2B)
• Hybrid work model (Gdańsk office, number of onsite days to be agreed)
