Data Platform SRE

We are looking for a Data Platrorm SRE to join an exciting greenfield project for a UK-based client. This is a unique opportunity to work on a brand-new initiative, leveraging the latest technologies to build robust and scalable data solutions from the ground up.

Key responsibilities:

• Provide technical leadership for escalated data-related issues, including database performance, data integrity, and ETL failures
• Act as a technical escalation point for unresolved data platform challenges
• Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot databases, data warehouses, and related infrastructure
• Support and optimize ETL processes and data integration pipelines
• Collaborate with the data engineering team to ensure efficient data flow and transformation
• Develop and maintain technical documentation
• Lead incident resolution, contribute to post-mortem analysis, and drive improvements
• Engage with suppliers and third parties to enhance service value

Ideal candidate profile:

• Strong experience with Python and PySpark
• Experience with ETL tools and processes (e.g., Azure Data Factory, Apache Airflow)
• Knowledge of database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB)
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills related to data platforms
• Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
