Junior/Mid IT Project Manager
About Kontomatik
Account Information Service leading provider in Poland (💪), we offer services that support banks and other companies in making decisions based on users’ financial data. Our main products include:
PSD2-based automatic financial data-gathering platform that connects to banks in Poland and across Europe via APIs;
PDF parsing tool that extracts data from bank statements;
A number of ML-based analytical services.
The idea behind it is quite simple - these tools can be used to assess whether a person is able to repay a loan or other financial obligations. We gather financial data and use Machine Learning models to label transactions and calculate a number of financial indicators. Of course, there are many other use cases, such as bookkeeping, expense tracking, and more.
About the job
We’re not going to lie - being a Project Manager means working on a bit of everything at all times: projects, our product, maintenance, delivery, testing, and documentation 🤯
In our IT team, this mostly means continuous monitoring of our existing services and integrations, contacting banks regarding their APIs, describing, planning, and delivering new features, and supporting both our business team and our clients in technical matters.
You will be mainly responsible for bank connections and other client- and user-facing products, while occasionally coordinating with other teams, including Data Science, which is responsible for our Machine Learning solutions.
Typical tasks include:
planning feature development and discussing it with developers;
meeting with clients to present technical aspects of our products and supporting them during the integration phase;
filling out RFIs, RFPs, and risk/security assessments;
contacting banks regarding integration issues and API performance;
providing technical input for clients and business teams, including official client/user communication, contracts, and writing documentation;
helping our support team with more complex or product-related cases;
monitoring the performance of our services, addressing potential issues, and preparing regulatory reports;
supporting recruitment processes;
…tbd? We’ll try to adjust your main responsibilities to your specific skill set and current needs 🙂
Our expectations
We’re open to both Junior and Mid level candidates. If you’re just starting out in the world of project management, we mainly expect that you are technical enough, willing to learn, and show natural aptitude in the management area.
Key skills:
being a technical person is crucial for effective cooperation with developers and clients, therefore we expect a computer science degree (completed or in progress) or relevant experience (e.g. in programming);
experience in creating a website, online process, API service, or similar (either as a developer or someone responsible for defining requirements and working with IT);
ability to gather and define functional and non-functional requirements;
strong analytical skills and a problem-solving mindset, combined with the ability to communicate effectively;
proficiency in both Polish and English, as most of our clients are based in Poland, with many located abroad.
We prefer candidates who can work from our Warsaw office at least 2 days per week, but we will also consider fully remote applications (within Poland only).
Nice to have:
knowledge of different project management methodologies;
knowledge of GDPR requirements and experience cooperating with legal teams;
UX/UI knowledge;
experience working with external clients;
knowledge of the financial or banking markets and related products;
We offer
cooperation based on a B2B contract, including compensated breaks in service provision;
a culture of autonomy, ownership, and continuous learning;
competent and helpful colleagues (as we humbly describe ourselves);
Agile (not Scrum) work methodology based on priorities;
a strong technical-excellence mindset - we are pretty serious about this;
private medical care and a Multisport subscription after a 3-month trial period;
team integration events and an annual company retreat;
perks in the office:
Herman Miller Embody chair – top-tier ergonomics;
electronic height-adjustable desk;
weekly fresh fruit deliveries and a stocked fridge with free sodas.
Our stack and working tools
MacBook (Windows is a no-no);
YouTrack for ticket management (it's waaay faster than Jira);
Google Workspace (including Gemini);
Git (GitHub cloud), IntelliJ IDEA;
Office 365 if Google tools are not enough;
our technology stack involves mainly Java, Elixir and Python, with all apps deployed to Google Cloud.
Recruitment process
CV selection - to verify whether your education and experience match our needs;
phone call - selected candidates will receive a phone call, during which we will ask you some questions that are general/HR-related and possibly some regarding the merit of the field;
full interview - if you did well during the phone call, we will organize a longer meeting where we will talk in depth about your knowledge, skills, experience, and answer any questions you might have as well;
(optionally) recruitment task - depending on whether we want to explore further any of your skills in practice, we might ask you to do a short job-related task at home;
offer - assuming you've passed all the steps, we'll make you an offer to come work with us and discuss the details of you joining the team.
