About the Role

As a Senior Data Engineer/Scientist, you will focus on designing and optimizing scalable data systems that enable cutting-edge analytics and advanced technologies like Generative AI and ML. While not primarily responsible for setting up the full data infrastructure, you will work closely with internal teams and may collaborate with contractors for more DevOps-heavy setup tasks when needed. This hybrid role blends engineering with data science, empowering you to innovate across the data lifecycle—from robust ETL pipelines to deploying predictive models and AI-driven solutions. 

What You’ll Do

• Data Engineering: Architect, extract, transform, and load data into structured and efficient formats, ensuring scalability for advanced analytics and AI capabilities. 
• Foundational AI Work: Lay the groundwork for Generative AI, LLMs, and ML models to enhance platform intelligence and user experiences. 
• Cloud Expertise: Build and optimize data systems in cloud-native environments (Azure/AWS), ensuring robust and efficient processing. 
• Data Visualization: Develop impactful dashboards and reports using tools like Power BI, Looker, or Tableau to communicate insights. 
• Advanced Analytics: Utilize SQL/NoSQL and advanced database structures to support business needs and optimize SaaS performance. 
• Predictive Modeling: Train and deploy machine learning algorithms to inform strategic decisions and innovate platform features. 
• Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with various teams to understand business needs and translate them into actionable data solutions. 
• Experimentation and Analysis: Design experiments and analyze outcomes to continuously improve data systems and decision-making processes. 

What We’re Looking For

• Proven expertise in data engineering and a solid understanding of data science principles. 
• Experience with SQL/NoSQL, database optimization, and advanced data structures. 
• Familiarity with building and deploying ML models and a keen interest in Generative AI/LLMs. 
• Proficiency with Power BI and other data visualization tools (e.g., Looker, Tableau). 
• Strong experience in cloud-native technologies (Azure and AWS). 
• A deep understanding of SaaS platforms and how to optimize them through innovative data strategies. 
• Excellent problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset, aligned with Kodiak Hub’s values.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
