About the role
As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will play a key role in shaping and delivering the technical vision of our platform infrastructure. You’ll provide day-to-day technical leadership, drive automation, and support the design and maintenance of scalable, cloud-native solutions.
Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders, you'll help define standards, streamline delivery pipelines, and promote best practices across infrastructure, DevOps, and cloud operations. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on enabling secure, reliable, and efficient delivery at scale.

Responsibilities
Provide daily technical leadership, guiding teams in architectural decisions and fostering innovation.
Participate in grooming and planning the platform backlog, ensuring tasks are well-prioritized and aligned with business goals.
Lead efforts to automate technical processes, improving efficiency and reducing manual work.
Share knowledge and best practices with teams, Kingfisher IT, and external partners to promote collaboration and learning.
Oversee the implementation and maintenance of shared IAAS, PAAS, and tooling capabilities, ensuring they meet business needs.
Design and deliver standardized pipelines and production workflows to streamline deployments.
Create and maintain common standards and practices to ensure consistency and quality across technical work.
Work with product owners, engineering squad lead and scrum masters to align the platform vision with the infrastructure strategy.
Evaluate and collaborate with vendors and open-source technologies to enhance the platform.
Continuously identify and implement automation opportunities to improve processes and speed up delivery.
Skills and Experience
Strong background in DevOps practices with hands-on experience in Infrastructure-as-a-Service and Platform-as-a-Service technologies, ensuring streamlined and efficient development and deployment processes.
Hands-on experience in designing, deploying, and managing infrastructure on public cloud platforms, with a preference for AWS, and familiarity with GCP and/or Azure
Exceptional ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly and concisely with stakeholders at all levels, ensuring alignment and understanding.
Skilled in shaping and delivering a unified vision for teams, motivating them to work towards common objectives and achieve excellence in their performance.
Demonstrates strong problem-solving abilities with a clear thought process, helping teams navigate challenges and make informed decisions.
In-depth technical knowledge of key build, release, and environment management tools, including experience with CI/CD tools such as GitLab Runners and Jenkins.
Proven experience with Internal Developer Platforms (IDP) / Developer Portals such as Backstage.io or similar solutions.
Experience integrating various developer tools and services (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, monitoring, logging, security scanning) into a unified developer portal
Ability to champion developer experience (DevEx) and drive adoption of IDP initiatives across engineering teams
Experience in defining and implementing "platform as a product" strategies for internal developer tools.
Proficiency in frontend programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, TypeScript, React, Node.js) is a strong plus, particularly for customizing and extending internal developer platforms (IDPs/Backstage.io)
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
