What's the job
Design and document ingestions from existing sources
Collaborate with Principal Data Designer to design and document ingestions from new sources
Collaborate with stakeholders and data platform teams to create designs that meet or exceed requirements, comply with principles, with supporting documentation delivered accurately and on time
Keep up to date with the data design principles.
Contribute to improvements to ways of working and documentation templates
Peer review colleagues designs to ensure that they meet the requirements and principles
Support the workstream by picking up additional design work when capacity allows

Data modelling for enterprise data warehouses
Works constructively with team and wider network to achieve deliverables
Gathers and documents information as guided
Understands deliverables and focuses on what is important
Works collaboratively in agile development process
Engages with key stakeholders inside and outside of own area to make design decisions
Strong attention to detail
Supports the wider design team by asking questions and offering suggestions during design review sessions
Communicates clearly and effectively
Learns new and deepens existing skills and techniques relevant to the role
Querying and transforming data using complex SQL
Conducting basic data profiling and analysis
Modelling data into simple facts and dimensions (including SCD type 2 dimensions)
Identifying basic data quality rules from the data source profiling and from business rules
Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
