Associate FinOps Engineer
(Hybrid/Kraków – 1 day per week in the office)

What's the job
About the role
We are looking for an Associate FinOps Engineer to support the management and optimisation of cloud costs across our platforms and engineering environments. In this role, you will work closely with Engineering, Product, Finance, and Procurement teams to help improve cost visibility, reporting, and forecasting within cloud environments.
You will support initiatives related to cloud cost optimisation, reporting, and governance, helping teams better understand their spending and identify opportunities to improve efficiency. The role also offers the opportunity to develop knowledge across cloud technologies, FinOps practices, and data-driven decision-making within a modern engineering environment.
Responsibilities
Support the development and continuous improvement of cost and forecasting models to provide visibility into current and future cloud spend.
Collaborate with Engineering and Product teams to accurately allocate cloud costs, support forecasting activities, and identify key cost drivers.
Help ensure appropriate tagging and alerting strategies are implemented to improve cost control and highlight deviations from planned spend.
Contribute to cloud cost optimisation initiatives by analysing usage data, identifying rightsizing opportunities, reducing waste, and supporting recommendations for savings plans.
Support the analysis and reporting of cloud consumption data to improve real-time dashboards, forecasting accuracy, and monthly reporting.
Assist with maintaining Cloud Cost KPIs, scorecards, and standard reporting metrics.
What you'll bring
Strong collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across Engineering, Product, Finance, and wider business teams.
Good analytical mindset with attention to detail, supporting cloud cost analysis and reporting activities, including custom reporting and dashboards in Power BI.
Problem-solving approach with the ability to identify and support cloud cost optimisation opportunities and operational improvements.
Understanding of working with large datasets, analysing cloud usage data, and supporting data-driven decision-making.
Interest in developing knowledge across Public Cloud technologies such as AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud, as well as DevSecOps practices including CI/CD and automation.
Ability to work in a collaborative and fast-paced environment, supporting continuous improvement and operational efficiency.
Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
