As a servant leader and facilitator, the RTE is responsible for planning, execution, and continuous improvement of program-level processes and delivery across multiple Agile teams, ensuring maximum value delivery through Lean-Agile principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate PI Planning: Organize and lead Program Increment (PI) planning events, ensuring alignment of vision, objectives, and deliverables across teams.

  • Support PI Execution: Monitor progress, manage risks, and facilitate ART-level syncs (e.g., Scrum of Scrums, PO Syncs) to ensure smooth execution.

  • Coach the ART: Mentor teams, Scrum Masters, and stakeholders in Lean-Agile practices to promote maturity and autonomy.

  • Optimize Flow: Identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies, leveraging metrics and feedback loops to enhance throughput.

  • Drive Relentless Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement through Inspect and Adapt workshops and retrospectives.

Required Skills and Competencies

  1. Deep Knowledge of Lean-Agile & SAFe: Demonstrated expertise in Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban, XP) and SAFe principles.

  2. Facilitation & Coordination: Skilled in moderating large-scale planning events and aligning cross-team deliverables.

  3. Team Leadership & People Management: Capable of building strong, high-performing teams through motivation and servant leadership.

  4. Risk Management & Problem-Solving: Proactive in identifying risks and implementing timely mitigation strategies.

  5. Coaching & Teaching: Passionate about mentoring others in Agile practices and facilitating organizational learning.

  6. Excellent Communication: Able to clearly convey goals, updates, and risks across a wide range of stakeholders.

  7. Metrics & Reporting: Competent in tracking performance indicators and publishing PI progress and outcomes.

  8. Budget & Resource Management: Experience managing ART-level budgeting and resource planning.

  9. Servant Leadership: Committed to enabling others' success by removing obstacles and fostering a collaborative culture.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

  • Proven experience in the role of Release Train Engineer within a SAFe environment.

  • SAFe RTE certification (preferred).

  • 7+ years of relevant experience in Agile environments with at least 2–3 years in a leadership or coordination role.
