Who you Are

You are an experienced Senior Cloud Engineer (Azure) with advanced technical expertise in designing, implementing, and managing Azure cloud environments. You thrive on solving complex technical challenges and have a proven track record of ensuring high-performance, secure, and compliant cloud solutions. You are a trusted advisor, capable of guiding teams and supporting escalated issues, while promoting best practices in cloud architecture and operations.

This position requires availability to work 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM Eastern Time to meet client obligations.

Responsibilities:

-Design and implement robust, scalable, and secure Azure cloud architectures.

-Serve as a senior escalation point for the customer’s cloud team to resolve advanced technical issues and ensure adherence to best practices.

-Set up and manage virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components to support complex workloads.

-Oversee the deployment and management of Azure App Services and other PaaS offerings for seamless application delivery.

-Ensure Azure resources comply with security policies and organizational standards.

-Monitor and analyze the health and performance of Azure resources, generating detailed reports to identify resource utilization, performance bottlenecks, and potential issues.

-Implement and manage Azure Backup and Site Recovery solutions to safeguard data and ensure business continuity.

-Configure and optimize virtual networks, load balancers, application gateways, and other networking components for seamless connectivity.

-Administer and optimize Azure SQL databases to ensure performance and reliability.

-Configure and maintain Azure Web Application Firewalls to enhance application security.

-Manage Azure Active Directory for identity and access, including multi-factor authentication and role-based access control (RBAC).

-Conduct regular reviews to improve the security posture of the Azure environment and recommend strategic improvements.

-Perform threat modeling to identify potential vulnerabilities and implement mitigation strategies.

-Deploy and maintain Azure security services (e.g., Azure Security Center, Azure Sentinel) to detect and respond to threats effectively.

-Lead or participate in incident response activities to address and resolve security issues.

Skills and Qualifications

-Extensive experience as a Cloud Engineer with a focus on Azure, including IaaS, PaaS, and advanced security features.

-Demonstrated expertise in designing and implementing complex Azure architectures.

-Strong hands-on experience with managing virtual machines, networking components, and Azure PaaS services.

-In-depth knowledge of Azure Backup, Site Recovery, and Web Application Firewalls.

-Advanced understanding of Azure governance, compliance frameworks, and best practices.

-Expertise in Azure Active Directory, multi-factor authentication, and role-based access control (RBAC).

-Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to mentor and guide technical teams

-Azure certifications such as AZ-305 (Azure Solutions Architect Expert), AZ-500 (Azure Security Engineer Associate), or AZ-104 (Azure -Administrator Associate).

-Familiarity with Azure Policy, Management Groups, and Blueprints for governance.

-Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell, Azure CLI, or ARM/Bicep templates.

-Knowledge of regulatory compliance standards (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, ISO 27001).
