Database Core Engineer (YouTrack)

YouTrack is a project management and team collaboration tool by JetBrains that’s available in the cloud (YouTrack Cloud) and as an on-premises solution (YouTrack Server). Thousands of teams worldwide use YouTrack to collaborate on projects of various sizes.

We also maintain a fork of OrientDB called YouTrackDB and are looking for a seasoned software engineer who will contribute to the development of YouTrackDB as well as the adjacent parts of the YouTrack application.

In this role, you will:

• Architect and build the database core and distributed functionalities.

• Implement new disk-based data structures, distributed algorithms, transaction management, and more.

• Make improvements to YouTrack’s overall performance and multi-core scalability.

• Maintain the data access layer in YouTrack.

We will be happy to have you on our team if you have:

• Strong Core Java/ C/ C++ programming skills and experience in implementing performance-critical algorithms.

• Applied knowledge of common data structures, algorithms, and architectures.

• Experience with the development of relational/NoSQL/graph database management systems

• The ability to analyze and debug complex problems.

• An advanced command of spoken and written English.

We would be especially thrilled if you have:

• Experience designing multi-threaded and massively parallel systems and algorithms.

• Experience with distributed architectures.
