Test lead engineer (mobile, Swift and C++ mostly)

Currently a part of Boeing working with digital aviation has been sold to Thoma Bravo, private equity investing company focused on software. Digital aviation solutions included Jeppesen and Foreflight companies are being currently merged. The quality of Jeppesen data fuses with Foreflight software solutions to create a top software company in the digital aviation world.

About the role (more or less on point, rather more!)

As test lead engineer, you will collaborate with other seniors (devs, architects, leads) and engineering manager, on the testing strategy across various mobile EFB solutions. Currently we have been building test suites for various pieces of tech stack distinctively. Now, we need to align and execute long term testing strategy execution. Pieces to cover will include: 

• EFB app layer with pieces of manual testing done by aviation specialists and automated tests setup that needs to be expanded. 

• Several backend components that are being merged into the app fullstack (some of them crossplatform) – fully automated 

• Few solutions with common pieces of the overall stack that are getting into maintenance mode

The team here is responsible for the commercial aviation segment, and  work on building new features as well as maintaining legacy code. We work closely with customer’s and product, so at the same time we work on the capabilities of the future. Although we are currently focusing on iOS platform – we maintain several cross-platform components. Each functionality is being build from the customer’s input, through data model and back-end modules up to the app layer. Most of the tech stack includes C++ and Swift. 

Who are you? (If you are able to recognize yourself in some of the following – apply!)

• Educational background within the software field, e.g. software engineering, data, computer science

• Experience with testing scalable, enterprise level mobile apps 

• Evolution of test suite following architectural evolution 

• Developer’s experience would be an asset 

• A drive to make things happen 

• Tech roadmap execution experience 

• People leadership experience 

• Being used to work with other tech leads globally (ability to collaborate and demo your work to global stakeholders in English, C1 preferred)

• You always try to understand the problems’ you solve and overall “why” context
