Software Engineer (Java/Scala) 💻

Warsaw-based opportunity with 3-5 days/week in the office - to be agreed upon

As a Software Engineer (Java/Scala), you will be working for our client, one of the most prestigious investment banks in the world.

You will be part of the Java-Slang Integration (JSI) team, responsible for engineering the runtime of a proprietary build pipeline used for developing, testing, and deploying critical business applications. 

Your work will allow engineers to develop products with reduced time to market, higher reliability and have material impact on our engineer productivity.

Skills and experience:

• At least 3 years of hands-on Java/Scala development experience
• Strong problem solving / analytical skills
• Excellent communication, influencing, relationship building skills and comfortable managing multiple stakeholders, driving consensus and influencing outcomes
• Passionate about the software development process and facilitating high frequency / high quality change across a vibrant and diverse user community

How You will fulfill your potential:

• Be part of the core team to drive strategic uplift of core SDLC platforms to increase throughput, latency, scalability and resiliency
• Build strong relationships with other high caliber engineers and enjoy collaboration and open to adopting new ideas

Preferred qualifications: 

• Experience in commercial / open source build systems (Maven / Ant / Gradle / Bazel) and knowledge in distributed and centralized software change management systems
• Experience in architecting horizontally scalable systems with knowledge of elastic compute and distributed systems patterns
• Experience of Devops, SRE, Linux
