Server Infrastructure Lead

As a Server Infrastructure Lead, you will be working for our client – a global quantitative and systematic investment manager known for its scientific approach to investing. You will be responsible for leading the day-to-day operations of QRT’s on-prem HP server infrastructure.

Your main responsibilities:

• Lead the administration and maintenance of HP server hardware in an on-prem environment.

• Oversee installation, configuration, and lifecycle management, including upgrades and decommissioning.

• Act as primary liaison with HP and other vendors to manage support cases, service contracts, and SLAs.

• Coordinate and resolve hardware alerts using HP OneView, HPE OpsRamp, and related tools.

• Manage firmware updates, inspections, and repairs with minimal downtime.

• Administer secure disk encryption through HPE ESKM in collaboration with security teams.

• Work closely with Linux and application teams to ensure performance, compatibility, and capacity.

• Lead a team of technicians, providing mentorship and ensuring a high standard of service delivery.

• Maintain clear documentation and provide regular reporting on hardware health and activity.

You're ideal for the role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience managing HP server hardware in a production data centre environment.

• Hands-on experience with HP ProLiant, DL, BladeSystem, and liquid-cooled server systems.

• Proficiency in HP OneView and HPE OpsRamp for provisioning, monitoring, and alert management.

• Familiarity with ESKM for disk encryption and key lifecycle management.

• Comfortable working alongside Linux systems and application teams.

• Strong organisational and vendor management skills.

• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership capabilities.

• Familiarity with hardware-related best practices in high-availability environments.
