As a Senior Production Operations Engineer – Global Payments IT, you will be working for our client within the Payments IT department. The Production Support Team is responsible for technical operations of Global Payments Execution, Messaging & Orchestration, and Sanctions & Investigation services—applying Site Reliability Engineering principles in a mission-critical environment across vendor platforms and in-house micro services. You will help ensure critical payment services remain stable, secure, and highly performant while leading incident response and root-cause prevention.

Your main responsibilities:

• Provide full day-to-day Production Support, resolving live incidents and driving post-resolution problem management.

• Conduct deep technical investigations to identify root causes of major system issues and prevent repeat operational failures.

• Operate and troubleshoot Linux environments, including patching, configuration, performance tuning, capacity management, certificates, and connectivity.

• Support Oracle Database operations in partnership with DBAs, including monitoring, lock/performance issue resolution, backups, and recovery readiness.

• Run and troubleshoot containerized workloads on Kubernetes, including deployments, scaling, cluster/node health, configuration and secrets, and networking/service-to-service diagnostics.

• Automate repetitive operational work by converting runbook steps into scripts and tooling to improve reliability and reduce manual effort.

• Improve monitoring and alerting to detect issues early and accelerate diagnosis during incidents.

• Support release readiness by validating operational acceptance criteria and assisting with controlled deployments and rollbacks, while maintaining accurate documentation and runbooks.

You're ideal for this role if you have:

• 5+ years of experience in production support / production operations / SRE-style roles in complex technical environments.

• Fluent English with excellent spoken and written communication across global stakeholders.

• Strong SQL and PL/SQL experience.

• Hands-on Linux experience (operational troubleshooting, performance and capacity work, and operational maintenance tasks).

• Knowledge and operational experience with Kubernetes.

• Solid understanding of Oracle database architecture and components.

• Shell scripting ability for automation (at least one: Bash, Python, or Java).

• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, including the ability to triage effectively under pressure and prioritize competing demands.

• Experience with monitoring/performance tuning and working in an Agile/DevOps environment.

It is a strong plus if you have: (optional)

• Payments domain experience.

• Experience with AppDynamics and/or Splunk.

• Experience with Python or Java beyond scripting use.

• Experience with Puppet/Ansible or similar configuration management tools.

Language Required for the role :

• English — fluent command.
