As a Senior Oracle Database Administrator, you will be working for our client, a leader in data infrastructure and management solutions. You will be instrumental in delivering critical projects that optimize Oracle environments, ensuring maximum uptime, performance, and security—driving innovation and operational excellence across enterprise systems. Your main responsibilities:
- Provide consulting on database performance monitoring, tuning, and optimization to enhance system efficiency
- Maintain high availability setups, replication configurations, and develop capacity and disaster recovery plans
- Stabilize Oracle environments and demonstrate ownership, commitment, and urgency in issue resolution
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams to implement short- and medium-term modifications based on change requests
- Assess, analyze, and implement database changes, providing troubleshooting support and root cause analysis for incidents
- Lead performance tuning using AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports, ensuring optimal database operations
- Manage Oracle technologies such as Real Application Cluster, Data Guard, Grid Control, and GoldenGate
- Automate database administration tasks using scripting in Shell and Python
- Support backup and recovery scenarios, ensuring robust data safety and security
- Collaborate within Agile teams using tools like JIRA and Confluence to deliver high-quality solutions
- Uphold ITIL practices, maintain security architecture, and participate in DR tests and service activities
You're ideal for this role if you have:
- At least 8 years of experience working with Oracle databases in enterprise environments
- Deep knowledge of Oracle 12c and 19c, with hands-on experience in RAC, Data Guard, and Grid Control
- Expertise in performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization using AWR, ADDM, and ASH reports
- Strong scripting skills (Shell/Python) and automation experience
- Familiarity with Linux/Unix platforms and backup/recovery strategies
- Good understanding of DevOps tools such as Jenkins, Git, and Ansible
- Solid knowledge of networking, security best practices, and ITIL concepts
- Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex concepts clearly
It is a strong plus if you have:
- Industry certifications related to Oracle or database management
- Experience with PostgreSQL, MongoDB, or other ITID technologies
- Knowledge of middleware (e.g., WebSphere, Tomcat), MS SQL, or Sybase
